Mike Stern: Big Neighborhood
Jambase has the scoop on Mike Stern’s new album, Big Neighborhood, coming out on August 11, 2009.
Stern’s track record for assembling a great line up of musicians continues with this release, and Big Neighborhood hosts a big lineup:
Bassists: Richard Bona, Esperanza Spalding, Chris Minh Doky and Lincoln Goines
Guitarists: Steve Vai and Eric Johnson
Drummers: Dave Weckl, Terri Lyne Carrington, Cindy Blackman and Lionel Cordew
Stern shares the inspiration for the title: “Music is like a big neighborhood – a place where anything and everything can happen. You can find all kinds of things in a big neighborhood – all kinds of different people, all kinds of different ideas and perspectives, and of course, all kinds of different sounds.”
