Robert “Bubby” Lewis Previews New Album with “Gold Rush”
Back in May, Robert “Bubby” Lewis discussed his tone with us, and he dropped us a few clues about his upcoming album, 1UP.
“It’s got a lot of interesting stuff happening with some cool collaborations,” he said. “I’m trying different stuff and experimenting. If it feels good, then I’m good.”
Now he’s released its first single, “Gold Rush,” and it’s epic. The track has a cinematic feel that draws on numerous styles from hip hop to jazz to video game soundtrack music. Lewis, of course, rips some gorgeous bass playing overtop of the composition. Check it out:
The track is available via iTunes and Bandcamp.
Lewis says he will be following up with another single in a few weeks, with the rest of the album to be released in parts. Stay tuned for more details.
