Fodera Unveils Monarch-P and Emperor-J Standard Classic Basses

Fodera Emperor J Standard Classic Red Bass

Fodera is gearing up for NAMM by introducing two new Standard models with the Fodera Emperor-J Classic and Monarch-P Classic. The retro-styled basses are built in Fodera’s Brooklyn shop alongside their custom instruments but are built in batch with limited options to keep costs and wait time to a minimum.

The Monarch-P Classic comes in two configurations: an ash body with a maple fingerboard or an alder body with a rosewood fingerboard. The Emperor-J has the same configurations, but the alder body fits its single coil J-J pickups in the ’60s spacing while the ash body fits them in the ’70s spacing.

Both of the basses are built as four-strings with a three-piece hard rock maple neck. Though they come as passive instruments, Fodera builds in the control cavity to allow for modding it to a preamp in the future. The Monarch-P Classic and Emperor-J Classic will be offered in 8 classic, high-gloss finishes including Fiesta Red, Candy Apple Red, Vintage Sunburst, Black, Olympic White, Charcoal Frost Metallic, Pelham Blue, and Butterscotch Blonde with a choice of Black, White, or Tortoise Shell pick-guards and classic chrome hardware.

They will be debuted at the Winter NAMM show. Fodera will be taking direct orders with the Emperor-J Classic at $3,995 and the Monarch-P Classic at $3,950.
