Wayne Jones Audio Introduces the WJBPII Twin Channel Bass Preamp

Australia’s Wayne Jones Audio has unveiled the bass amp builder’s latest creation: the WJBPII Twin Channel Bass Preamp. The comprehensive unit has two independent channels with the second channel having the option of phantom power.
“Listening to endorsees Scott Colley & André Berry I designed this new edition for the endorsee family,” designer Jones writes. “Scott needed one channel for his double bass pick up and a second channel for the phantom powered mic he uses on the bass. Andre needed extended treble frequencies. I also made a few of my own changes to the WJBPII. The WJBPII is designed with a no compromise attitude in Cost, Quality, Components & Features just as are WJ High End High Powered Bass Cabinets.”
The WJBPII’s front panel has independent channels, each starting with an input gain level with a -10dB pad and input clip indicator. Next in the circuit is an optical compressor with a level. Its EQ section has six bands plus a 30hZ boost. A channel selector toggles between the strips while a stereo pan control lets you pan your signal when you’re using dual outputs.

The rear panel has plenty of connectivity with stereo XLR balanced outputs, a stereo/mono effects loop, a foot switch for silent tuning, DI pre or post EQ with level control, an Auxiliary input, and a headphone output.
Here’s a demo/review by Wayne Jones endorser André Berry:
