Ron Carter’s Comprehensive Bass Method Reissued
Bass master Ron Carter has teamed up with 1630 Jazz Books to re-release his Comprehensive Bass Method instruction book and two song books.
The 84-page bass method book builds on the original from the 1970s with “several of his compositions, a transcription, new photographs and video links to Ron demonstrating several exercises.” Designed for both upright and electric bass, it covers topics including arpeggios, scales, horizontal technique and more with etudes to reinforce the ideas.
The Ron Carter Songbook is 136 pages featuring 119 of the bassist’s songs, including “Little Waltz”, “Eighty-One”, and more. Finally, a book of Ron Carter’s Big Band Music features 10 full charts of songs written by Carter and arranged by Rich DeRosa.
Ron Carter’s Comprehensive Bass Method, The Ron Carter Songbook, and Ron Carter’s Big Band Music books are all available now through 1630jazzbooks.com.
