Eastwood Guitars Now Shipping Newport Bass

Eastwood Guitars is now shipping the Newport Bass, which is a tribute to a vintage bass from the ’60s.
“The EPI bass guitar, or EB-S, was manufactured between 1961 and 1969; and this example comes from the middle year, 1965. 1964-1966 were the peak years for the Newport and this is the popular version,” Eastwood explains. “Our tribute version will try to stay true to the original: mahogany body, mahogany set (glued-in) neck with rosewood fretboard.”
They say the combination of materials gives the Newport a deep rich tone, though snarlier tones can be had by playing by the bridge. The bass is fitted with an EB humbucker.
The Eastwood Guitars Newport Bass ships with a custom gig bag. It is available now with a direct price of $599.
