Mike Mills Teams with Chuck Leavell and Robert McDuffie for Tour

Former R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills is joining Rolling Stones keyboardist Chuck Leavell and violinist Robert McDuffie to honor musicians from Georgia. A Night Of Georgia Music is a tour that will see the trio performing works by The Allman Brothers Band, James Brown, Outkast, R.E.M., Ray Charles, and more. They’ll also perform a piece called Concerto for Violin, Rock Band and String Orchestra written by Mills.
“What I really like about this is that we are combining two worlds, rock and roll and classical,” Mills says. “The Venn diagram, I think, has a little more overlap than most people believe, so we’re just trying to prove that, to combine the styles and come up with something interesting.”
Mills will be performing bass, guitar, and piano on the tour.
