Smashing Pumpkins Announce Tour with New Bassist

Smashing PumpkinsWith the new addition of bassist Nicole Fiorentino, the Smashing Pumpkins have announced a summer tour of the U.S. with plans to visit South America and Australia later this year. Frontman Billy Corgan promises the music will be “a balance of classics, a few obscure ones, and new Teargarden material.”

The band is also planning on invite select fans to attend the group’s sound checks as well, though the details have not been hammered out.

“We’re still figuring out a way to make it possible for some of the fans who’ll be in the line outside waiting to get in for that,” Corgan says.

Teargarden by Kaleidyscope is the group’s newest project, which will include 44 new songs, released on eleven 4-song EPs. The first, Vol. 1, Songs for a Sailor, was released in late May. Though you can buy it in box set, the music is downloadable for free.
