Seymour Duncan Announces the Heavy Weather Pickup Set

Seymour Duncan has unveiled a new set of bass pickups called the Heavy Weather set. The pair of single coils is described as a slightly brighter take on early ’60s jazz bass tone. That includes “vintage grit and growl” plus “expressive harmonics.”
“The vintage-hot wound Alnico 5 pickups are voiced to provide a punchy and fluid responsiveness and treated to breathe in a way that delivers enhanced harmonic clarity,” they write. “Heavy Weather pickups will perform equally well in fretted and fretless basses.”
The Seymour Duncan Heavy Weather pickups come in a set with black covers – with or without the company’s logo. They’re available now for $198.
