Mr. Big to Reunite

Mr. Big to reunite“It’s like getting back with an old girlfriend, but because you want to, not because you have to.” This is how bassist and group founder Billy Sheehan describes the upcoming Mr. Big reunion tour. Last fall the original members got together and rocked out the House of Blues in LA. According to Sheehan, the chemistry they shared at that one show prompted the group to ask themselves “now what?”

It’s been 13 years since all four original members (Billy Sheehan/bass, Eric Martin/vocals, Paul Gilbert/guitar, and Pat Torpey/drums) shared the stage. Japan was the inevitable choice for their reunion tour, given their overwhelming popularity there during the ‘90s. “Us going to Japan…is more about being in a place that’s comfortable, and being around fans who will be good to us” explains Sheehan. The June 2009 tour coincides with Mr. Big’s 20th Anniversary and to commemorate the milestone, they will record live at Budokan in Tokyo. Additional tour dates for Southeast Asia and America are still in the works.
