NAMM Watch: the Ibanez 30th Anniversary Musician Bass
The Ibanez Musician Bass series debuted 30 years ago this year, and Ibanez is celebrating with an extremely limited special anniversary edition, the MC30TH.
Ibanez shares some background on the bass in a recent release:
“While the Musician wasn’t the first bass to feature active electronics, it was the first with that technology that most working musicians could afford. Ibanez’s work with active electronics with the Musician led to the development of the active electronics in the Soundgear basses which would take the world by storm in the ‘80s and firmly established Ibanez as the leader in active basses.”
The bass is being hand-crafted in Japan, with only 15 basses available worldwide. Each bass includes wooden pickup covers, a special 30th anniversary model inlay, a deluxe MC30TH roadcase, and a certificate of authenticity.
