Stage collapses on country bassist Alex Stevens

According to CBS News, the accident occurred at the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alberta in Canada. High winds caused the top of the stage to blow down on the stage and fans. Currington has said his band is “very grateful” to come out alive. In total 75 people were injured and Donna Teresa Moore, 35, was killed. Currington issued the following statement via Twitter:

“The boys and I are very grateful to be home and for life itself. We thank you for your prayers and concern and will see you on the road again soon… My heart goes out to the family of Donna Moore, who was killed, and all of the other fans who were hurt on Saturday.”

The four-day jamboree was to finish with country super star Tim McGraw, but the last day was cancelled due to this tragic event.

Our thoughts are with the family of Ms. Moore, and a speedy recovery to Alex.
