Paul McCartney Reportedly Recorded a New Song with Nirvana Members for Upcoming Album

Paul McCartney with surviving members of Nirvana

There’s some buzz building on the web about another collaboration between Paul McCartney and Nirvana members Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear, thanks to a news item from The Macca Report.

The report suggests the musicians got together for one of the tracks from McCartney’s upcoming and yet-to-be-titled album.

The Macca Report’s Jorie Gracen discovered a track-by-track sneak preview by an anonymous person who had been given advanced tracks for the upcoming release. The album’s fourth track, “Down the Road” is the one which will reportedly feature the quartet.

Grohl recruited McCartney for 121212: The Concert for Sandy Relief back in December, where the group performed “Cut Me Some Slack”, a tune they wrote from the occasion.

The anonymous reviewer described the track as “a very catchy with the Nirvana boys repaying the favor… If you like ‘Cut Me Some Slack’ then you’ll love this one… hard driving rocker with a ripping vocal from Paul.”

The new album is expected to be release this summer.

  1. If you watch the doco “Sound City” you’ll see them jamming and recording in Dave Grohl’s studio… So a high possibility!
