Pino Palladino Live with John Mayer Trio: Who Did You Think I Was?

By far, my favorite John Mayer CD is Try! John Mayer Trio Live in Concert, thanks to bassist Pino Palladino‘s incredible playing.

This is concert footage the way we like it… with the camera operator sticking with the bassist for the whole segment.

Be sure to hang around to the 2:40 mark of this video, where the band kicks into Jimi Hendrix’s “Power of Soul”. Pino really tears it up!

Pino just showed everybody ( who's really listening ) how unselfish his masterful bass playing really is! He is a drummers concrete foundation and a soloist best friend. He wears a little bit of a “Noel Redding ” hat too. YES! – Joel

Joel…, “He is a drummer’s concrete foundation and a soloist’s best friend!” I love that! That is what every bassist should strive for. I’m gonna steal your line, sorry… Marko
