Lemmy Kilmister Statue Campaign Launched

Lemmy KilmisterA new campaign to immortalize Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead and GnR guitarist Slash with stone statues has been started in their hometown of Stoke-on-Trent, a city in Staffordshire, England.

Campaign founder Nile Plumb says the two legendary rockers should be honored in their city to “celebrate Stoke-on-Trent’s musicians and inspire future generations of musicians.” The campaign’s Facebook page also poses the question, “why should potters and footballers have a statue and not Lemmy and Slash?!”

You can show your support by “liking” the campaign’s Facebook page and staying tuned for updates.

In other Lemmy news, it has been announced that the new Motorhead DVD, Attack in Switzerland, will hit stores on October 19th. The performances are taken from the band’s 2002 tour and feature Motorhead classics as well as several covers, including the Sex Pistols’ “God Save the Queen.”
