Radial Engineering Announces Reamp JCR
Earlier this year, Radial Engineering bought John Cuniberti’s Reamp business including the rights to the manufacture the Reamp – a piece of studio equipment that allows you to take pre-recorded tracks and re-record them through your bass or guitar amp. As such, Radial has unveiled the Reamp JCR, a passive Reamper that employs the original circuit design by Cuniberti with a couple additions.
One of the conditions of Reamp’s sale to Radial is that the box must continue to use the same original custom wound “Made in the USA” transformer and circuit. The box includes separate XLR and 1/4” TRS inputs and a variable output level for controlling the signal. Radial built on this by including a three-position tone filter and a mute button, which makes it easier to cut the signal in order to make adjustments or move microphones in the studio.
The device is housed in steel, which Radial explains provides better shielding than its predecessor’s aluminum chassis.
The Radial Reamp JCR is expected soon, with a street price of $199. For more info, visit the Radial Engineering website.
