Misfits Announce Fall Tour, New Album
Punk legends The Misfits will be hitting the road this Fall in support of The Devil’s Rain, their first all-original studio album since 1999’s Famous Monsters.
Led by bassist/vocalist Jerry Only, the iconic band will start with a couple European dates before an extensive trek across the continental U.S. from September to November.
The Misfits originally formed in 1977 and split by 1983, only to be reformed in 1996 by Only and brother Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein. The current lineup includes Only, guitarist Dez Cadena and drummer Eric “Goat” Arce.
The bassist explains that through all the changes since the groups inception, the macabre band is here to stay.
“Its been over 30 years and 30 years from now, people will still be playing our albums because we will never water down what we do,” Only said. “Our goal is to keep perspective on who we are and always stay true to ourselves. Our next album will only reinforce how potent the band has become with time. We plan to continue as always, to eclipse the past, block the sun and drag humanity by the throat into a world of darkness filled with ghouls, goblins and creatures of the night, where we are king.”
The Devil’s Rain is set to hit shelves October 2.
