Nathan Navarro: Chemical (Dubstep Bass Guitar 2)

Nathan Navarro has been turning heads since he started incorporating electric bass into more electronic styles, most notably Dubstep.

He sent us his second dubstep bass guitar video of his original song “Chemical.”

Nathan uses a lot of “wobble” technique, though things take a heavier turn at about 1:37 that sounds more reminiscent of Meshuggah.

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.

  1. I’d say deathcore more than ‘shuggah.

  2. Wow you guys featured this already XD sweet. I listen to it everyday. Nathans pretty sweet. And no treble is pretty sweet. And those dubstep breakdowns are VERY close to actual dubstep. Just the rhythm feels a bit irradic (not referring to the blast beats) but its great regardless! He’s making a great incorporation of (actual) dubstep in metal.
