TC Electronic Unveils BH250 Bass Amplifier for Summer NAMM

TC Electronic BH250 - front

With Summer NAMM just around the corner, TC Electronic has unveiled their most compact bass amplifier to date: the BH250. Weighing in at just four pounds, the Class D amplifier boasts 250-watts while packing in the company’s intelligently contoured tone controls and TonePrint among other features.

The BH250’s tone controls are tailored specifically for bass. Instead of single frequency bands for each knob, boosting and cutting affects appropriate bands. For instance, turning up the bass knob will boost 100Hz, but turning it down will cut 80Hz.

TonePrint allows for players to easily swap effects ranging from Chorus to Drive with their smartphone or laptop. Other features include a built-in tuner, a mute, XLR output, and headphone outputs.

  1. is it not kind of strange…. no external speaker out (for the combo that uses this head too) and the tuner is only 4 string?

    • Hey Thomas, The tuner actually accommodates for low B and high C strings by lighting up two lights at once. It’s demonstrated in the video at about 4:30.

    • oh cool… thanks for that word! Is the combo the same? I really an jonesing for the combo.

    • The tuner on the combo is for 5 string BEADG. The combo is excellent! No external speaker out but, an XLR direct out…phenomenal tones and customizable effects via tone print app.

  2. Excellent point, Thomas. As long as TC is incorporating a tuner, why not make it for 5 or 6 string basses? Of course, there are always ears for the extra string(s), but it seems like an oversight.

    • Hey Barry, I just replied to Thomas, but the tuner does work for low B and high C strings by lighting up two LEDs at once. It’s demonstrated in the video around the 4:30 mark.

  3. What kind of guitar strap is that he is wearing in the video?
