Former Cirque du Soleil bassist Darrell Craig Harris took the Beatles’ “Come Together” and cranked up the funk knob on this solo bass version of the classic tune.

  3. “Come Together” was actually my audition piece for the University of Bridgeport’s Jazz Improv Program back in the day run by Mr. Art Davis, a well respected upright player. I had to notate the whole thing and did it in Emin. In any event, I did it on a very old Fender PBass with sunburst body and maple neck. He loved it, I passed and then was taken to his other studio where a bunch of other players were. Keyboardists, drummers, horn players, jazz guitarists, etc. He passed y arrangement out to them and in short order we had it going it and my little rendition came alive in a way I never thought possible. So, the song itself has always had a special place for me and I’m always interested in hearing how other bass players interpret it. Today, I have an old black & white Fender P Bass and a Fender Marcus Miller Signature Jazz made in America.
