Sadowsky Releases Onboard Bass Preamp Assembly

Sadowsky Onboard Bass Preamp Assembly

Sadowsky has introduced a new onboard bass preamp that comes prewired and offers the same controls and preamp as all Sadowsky basses. The controls include Volume, Pan, Vintage Tone Control, Treble, and Bass. Pulling up on the tone control bypasses the preamp.

The preamp can be installed with the included control plate or transferred to another plate or pickguard and can be installed through a rear control cavity in either four inline or diamond patterns. Pickups attach to the preamp via connectors at the pan pot, and the direction of the pan can be reversed by switching connectors.

The Sadowsky Onboard Preamp is available now direct for $269. For more info, check out the Sadowsky website.

  1. Awesome or Awesome?

  2. Will I have to make any changes to my bass if I buy this? Or it just as easy as pop it in play?

    • I play a Fender Jazz by the way

    • Hey Devin, Sadowsky suggests getting it installed by a technician. Here’s what they write on its one-sheet: “On a typical J-style bass, the output jack needs to be moved to the side of the body and a battery compartment must be installed in the rear of the bass.”
You might want to check with them before diving in, but I still imagine it wouldn’t be too much work.

  3. hold on…..I have drool on the floor to clean up.
