Aguilar Announces Two New Soapbar Pickup Series
Aguilar has introduced the Super Singles and the DCB pickups, two new pickup series for bass. Both types of pickups are wound in the company’s New York City factory and will be available in a variety of 4-, 5-, and 6-string standard soapbar sizes.
The Super Singles offer a single coil sound in a soapbar size, Aguilar says, going on to say that players can expect the “articulation and nuance” of a single coil combined with “great sustain and harmonic development.” They also emphasize that strings have good string-to-string response and even tone throughout all registers.
The DCB pickups have dual ceramic bar magnets that allow for versatility with well-developed overtones and sustain. The company states the DCB’s work well in both passive basses or with an onboard preamp.
The Aguilar Super Singles and DCB Soapbar pickups will be available in early March with a TBA price point. For more, check out the Aguilar website.
