Ibanez Refreshes Artcore Series Basses

Ibanez has updated their Artcore series of basses with the AGB205 and the AFB200SRD. As part of the Artcore line, the acoustic/electric basses follow vintage aesthetic and sport 30.3″ scales.

Ibanez Artcore AFB200SRD Bass

The AFB200SRD is built constructed with a 3-piece maple/mahogany neck, a maple body, and a bound rosewood fingerboard. It offers a new Sunset Red finish and a newly designed pickguard. The pickups are a pair of ACHB humbuckers controlled with a 3-way pickup selector as well as Volume and Tone controls. The ART-1 wooden bridge is rosewood.

Ibanez Artcore AGB205 Bass

The Ibanez AGB205 is the line’s first 5-string model. While it shares many of the same features as the AFB200SRD, its bridge is an Artcore Custom 5 Bridge made of milled brass.

The Ibanez Artcore AGB205 and AFB200RSD are set to ship this month with street prices of $599.99.

  1. They look absolutely beautiful. I have the model before this, wonderful bass.

  2. I’de love to get me the 5 string model.

  3. These are really nice looking instruments. I hope the updates to the Artcore series have improved their tone. I used to own an older styled Artcore bass. The neck and body were made of one piece and it sounded absolute horrible. I’m a little afraid to go down this road again.

  4. “sport 30.3? scales” :)

  5. I want the 5 version….have always wanted one, just never shelled the money for it.

  6. I am not a huge fan of Ibanez but I like the look of this one. Pretty nice looking bass.

  7. Made in China. I don’t care, I want the fiver.

  8. Luis Sotelo

Does anyone if the ABG205 comes in a Left Handed Model? If not, could one modify it to be played left handed? Flip the Nut, and Bridge around?
