Paul McCartney Reissues “Wings Over America”

Paul McCartney: Wings Over America Reissue

While currently on his Out There Tour, Paul McCartney is continuing to reissue his classic material with a new version of Wings Over America. The release is a remastered take of the 1976 triple album that captured the band during their Wings Over America tour of the same year.

With performances including “Maybe I’m Amazed,” “Live and Let Die,” and the Beatles classics “Yesterday,” “The Long and Winding Road” and more, the album originally hit #1 on the U.S. charts in early 1977.

The reissue was remastered at Abbey Road Studios and is now available in a variety of formats. The Deluxe Edition Box Set contains the original 28-track album on two discs, plus a bonus disc with eight previously unreleased tracks recorded at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. It also has a bonus DVD of the 75-minute TV special “Wings Over the World,” a 112-page book written by David Fricke with new interviews and tour photography, a 60-page photographic journal of Linda McCartney’s images from the tour, a 136-page replica tour book, and an 80-page book of drawings by artist Humphrey Ocean.

The Standard Edition includes 28 tracks in a 2-disc set, available on CD and digital formats (iTunes and Amazon MP3).

A 3-LP, 180 gram audiophile vinyl edition is also available.

  1. Paul is so cool. Playing a ric with a pick, nice tone. I still have the 1976 albums and wore out Medicine Jar and Magneto And Titanium Man (my favorite songs).
