TC Electronic Announces Polytune 2

TC Electronic Polytune 2TC Electronic has upgraded its flagship tuner with the Polytune 2. The polyphonic tuner, which displays the pitches of all your strings when you strum them simultaneously, now offers a bigger, brighter display as well as chromatic strobe tuner.

The Polytune 2 features much brighter LEDs than its predecessor and the brightness of the display is adjusted automatically with an ambient light sensor. While the pedal is best known for being able to tune all strings at once, its MonoPoly function recognizes when you play a single string and displays the appropriate tuning mode. This has been enhanced further with a strobe tuner mode that’s accurate up to +/- .1 Cent. It also allows for Drop D and capo tuning with a Total Recall to remember your pitch reference and tuning mode settings.

Other features include True Bypass with silent tuning, a DC output for powering other pedals, and 3M velcro for attaching to your pedalboard. The TC Electronic Polytune 2 will be shipping this month with an estimated street price of $99. For more info, check out the TC Electronic website.

  1. Does it do Low B or lower?

  2. I’ve never considered to buy a pedal tuner until I saw the original polytune. Now I’ve seen this one and I’m pretty sure that this one is for me. It’ll be my birthday gift for myself.

  3. A slap on the wrist to No Treble…and TCE. I really had to search, to find the fact that it has a DC out, to power other pedals. All other things being equal, that might be a critical consideration, for some.

  4. Please. Learn the difference between “its” and “it’s.”

If you’re referring to the use of “its” in the article : “Its MonoPoly function…”, then they have used the correct form. It’s easy to get confused since the case with “it’s” and “its” do not go with normal convention. In this case “it’s” is a contraction for “it is” where as “its” is the possessive form.
