Ask Damian Erskine: A Call for Questions

Damian Erskine

Damian Erskine’s Ask Damian column is our longest running column on No Treble. For over four years – and I believe a total of 216 columns so far – Damian’s column has also been one of the most popular, thanks to the unique way he breaks things down.

Damian is looking for more questions to answer. So if you have one, now is a great time to ask.

We’re really interested in continuing the thread on the business of music, if you have questions related to that topic. Damian’s most recent column, Life as a Working Bassist: Where Does the Money Come From? may have been his most popular to date. So we think that would be an incredibly useful series to readers over the coming weeks and months.

If you have a question for Damian, send it to him at [email protected]. Or post it in the comments.

Thanks!

  1. How do you handle hecklers?

  2. Damian,

You mentioned the major percentage of income came from live gigs. Where do you come across said gigs? Being around the area for a while? Word-of-mouth? Craigslist? Knowing the right people?

Loved your article by the way. Thanks!

  3. Why wont No Treble make a 3xl shirt to fit my size!

  4. I noticed he used a spreadsheet for your last column. How about a column on money management for freelancers?
