Perri Ink Guitars Unveils the Rocky IV Bass

Perri Ink Guitars' Rocky IV Bass - bodyL.A.’s Perri Ink Guitars has unveiled it’s first custom bass guitar, the Rocky IV. The U.S.-made bass is crafted with a contoured solid alder body and a one-piece maple neck that’s fitted with black block inlays. For more visual flair, the body is embellished with 12K gold leafing by the artist “Sonny Boy.”

The Rocky IV is fitted with a Seymour Duncan SMB-4D Music Man style humbucker, which is described as a hotter pickup aimed at rock, punk, funk, and metal styles. It’s matched with a Seymour Duncan active 3-Band EQ circuit that has bass, mid, and treble controls as well as a slap switch. Pulling up on the volume knob engages the slap, which is a proprietary EQ contour designed for slap playing. Hardware on the bass includes JENZ machine heads and a Hipshot Vintage Bass bridge.

  1. Nice tone, but in terms of looks (something I’m kind of picky about) this bass doesn’t do it for me. IMO, that blocked maple FB simply doesn’t go with those graphics (inlayed??) on the body. The central block showing the hrain of the wood looks off to me as well.

  2. No ex. of slap feat.(vol. knob) on demo?!
