Joe Gallant & Mike Visceglia: Outvention

We love a good bass duo. Here’s Joe Gallant and Mike Visceglia playing their piece “Outvention.”

Taken from the December Fretathon concert in New York City, the piece is a play on Bach’s Inventions, filled with cool counterpoint.

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.

  2. YES…up from the down low; my main man..JoeyG.

  3. Joe, Reminds me of a story you once told me. You’ve walked into a music store and asked to try out a bass. The store employee suspicious of your vibe or looks hovers. You proceed to play Bach Inventions or Variations. Employee leaves you to enjoy your moment.

  4. Great to hear such fine people playing fine music.

  5. yeah Matt- looking back, i think the store guy saw me as a longhair hippie asking to lay hands on his ultra-priced Elrick or something similar, the shining zircon of his collection… after i noodled around for a moment, he saw it was in good enough hands.
