Judith Owen Releases “Ebb & Flow” with Leland Sklar

Judith Owen: Ebb & FlowJudith Owen’s latest album, Ebb and Flow, evokes the sounds of 1970’s singer-songwriter troubadours, so it’s just fitting that bass legend Leland Sklar, who played on James Taylor’s “You’ve Got a Friend,” Jackson Browne’s “The Pretender” and countless other hits, is providing the low end on the record.

Owen, a jazz-rock singer and her band, which also includes superstar sidemen Russ Kunkel (drums) and Waddy Wachtel (guitar), cover Taylor’s “Hey Mister, That’s Me Up on the Jukebox” and Mungo Jerry’s “In the Summertime,” on the record.

It also includes “I’ve Never Been to Texas,” which you can see in a live performance, featuring the inimitable Mr. Sklar:

Ebb and Flow is available on CD, vinyl and for digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3.)

As we mentioned last week, the duo announced a free tour, which is currently underway.

Lee never ceases to amaze me …. Amazing groove and feel.If you hear a song on the radio with a beautifully executed bass line, and a undeniable slide up and/or down the fretboard, chances are it could be the most recorded bassist on the planet …Leland Sklar !
    BASS ON, Brother Lee!
