Gino Vannelli: “Wild Horses” Live

The first time I heard of Gino Vannelli was thanks to Damian Erskine (who now plays regularly with Gino).

Back in 2007, Gino and his band at the Java Jazz Festival in 2007, including this tune, “Wild Horses”. The thing that grabbed me most about this performance was bassist Sandin Wilson’s fretless work and tone.

  1. Very nice indeed! Love the fretless!

  2. His work with Michael Gettell is phenomenal.

  3. I just recently posted about Gino on my FB page. If all you know about him is the cheesy MOR singles from the 80’s, , you need to check out the deep cuts on his albums – completely different from the singles, and full of incredible musicianship.

  4. grande gino vannilli y su interpretacion del bajista sandin wilson

  5. Reinhardt Melz on drums!

  6. That’s a really nice band. Great fretless work. Gino always seems to find great musicians for his performances.

  7. Freetrademan

There’s no fretless like a Pedulla Buzz.

  8. Completely outstanding. Love the sound of that Pedulla Pentabuzz. Also, killer guitar playing on this from Allen Hinds.

  9. Thanks for sharing, to me the whole band is amazing, great job of all of them. The bass lines were great in contrapunct or complement to the voice, and Sandi took them with maestry.
    Beautyful music.
