PRS Announces SE Kingfisher and SE Kestrel Basses
PRS Guitars has introduced the first bass models of their SE line: the SE Kingfisher and the SE Kestrel. The basses, which are designed in Maryland and built overseas, are both described as traditional character with modern upgrades.
SE Kingfisher Bass
The SE Kingfisher is a neck-thru design built with a swamp ash body, a 24-fret maple/walnut neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. Its fitted with a pair of PRS-designed humbuckers that the company says deliver a huge “clanky” tone missing from some modern basses. The pickups have separate volume knobs with one master tone control. Hardware includes a Hipshot TransTone bridge and Hipshot HB6 tuners.

SE Kestrel Bass
Taking its cue from the traditional singlecoil bass design, the SE Kestrel has an alder body and a 22-fret maple/walnut neck topped with a rosewood fingerboard. The single coil pickups are also PRS-designed and are described as punchy and focused. PRS says the Hipshot HB6 bridge allows for stringing through the bridge or through the body for further tonal possibilities.

The PRS SE Kingfisher and SE Kestrel will be shipping soon with price points between $749 and $799.

great sounding basses….but if production is over seas, then maybe you should sell them overseas….because in the end, if ALL production for ALL products are done overseas, who here will have a job to buy anything….just a thought….but really, great sounding basses….
PRS Bass produced in Korea with classic styling……about time!
Kind of clear bright punchy tone..the music is awesome too
Would not pay that much for anything Korean (or for that matter Mexican, etc).
