It’s been a rough year for Dusty Hill. Last month, the ZZ Top bassist was sidelined for surgery to remove kidney stones. Now the band has announced that the rest of their co-headlining tour dates with Jeff Beck have been canceled after Hill fell and injured his hip. Live Nation officials stated he fell inside the band’s tour bus, adding that the bearded four-stringer needed immediate attention to the injury.

The affected dates include thirteen shows up through September 13th. ZZ Top is scheduled to return to the road September 25th in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania with performances scheduled for the entire month of October and into November.

Once again, we’re wishing a speedy recovery to Mr. Hill!

I sure hope you’re gonna show…for ‘nother party on the patio-io-io, Groover. You are my favorite bass man…after all. Chuck will push the vitamins and therapies and get you back in “tour mode” pdq, I know….and I hope we get to see you as soon as you guys get within range.

The alpharetta, ga show on the 6th has not been cancelled offically. Can anyone confirm whether it is expected to be cancelled?

      • Scott

Thanks. The possible “rescheduling” seems to also be what the venue and ticketmaster are saying. However, neither one of them can confirm whether the show will or will not be taking place. Apparently, the show’s promoters have not made a statement about the show one way or the other. Ticketmaster continues to sell tickets for the show and has not notified the general public that it has been cancelled. The venue indicates the show has been “suspended”, but cannot confirm that the show will not be taking place on Saturday. Ticketmaster indicated to me that the show may very well be proceeding with a substitute bass player. It is very frustrating being a ticket holder unable to get a concise statement regarding the status of the show from the venue or ticketmaster.

Total bummer. More than anything, the ticket holders need clarity. Ticketmaster and Promoters, please help!
