Postmodern Jukebox with Kate Davis: All About That [Upright] Bass
Ever since Meghan Trainor released her single “All About That Bass,” we’ve been getting tons of email and Facebook messages about it. We can certainly appreciate the song’s chorus, “You know I’m all about that bass, no treble.” It has a nice ring to it.
Postmodern Jukebox took things a step further with this swing version of the song with singer/multi-instrumentalist Kate Davis laying it down on bass. The trio has a lot fun on the track, especially after the double time section at 2:24.
Damn nice tune and fine players. A real treat. Thank you.
loved it !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ouch… I just got struck by Cupid’s arrow… Now that is a REAL woman – HaHa Great: vibe, song, groove, & bassline. I LOVE IT !!!
The pop version is a definite ear whig however this is way cool.
You gotta love a great female bassist…this was actually fun to listen to…plus she’s preety cute.
sweet, sexy and swingin”
I think I like it better this way. It’s perfect in the jazz/swing format. Perfect voice for it too.
This is my theme song!
That was the coolest version on the pop tune I’ve heard! Just as catchy as the pop version! Love the woman power on the bass!!!
I sooo totally agree. So fun to listen to.

Sweet! I much enjoyed this!!
Love this song! Love Kate’s voice! It seems this song was just written for her voice! What a good match-up!
While Kate is amazing, both the Pianist & drummer add an incredible cool to this rendition.
