Randy Rhoads Honored with Tribute Collection, Featuring Rudy Sarzo on Bass

The Immortal Randy Rhoads — The Ultimate TributeThe Immortal Randy Rhoads — The Ultimate Tribute honors the career of Rhoads, whose career as a guitarist ended with his 1982 death as a result of an airplane accident.

Rhoads’ contributions to metal were already significant when he died at age 25, having played with Quiet Riot in its early days and then helping to create Ozzy Ozbourne’s solo sound on the albums Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman.

The Immortal Randy Rhoads features Rhoads’ former bandmate, the prolific metal bassist Rudy Sarzo, as well as drummer Frankie Banali, both of whom worked with Rhoads in Quiet Riot. Sarzo appears on every track of the tribute album, which focuses on Rhoads’ work with Osbourne.

Guitarists on the album include Tom Morello, George Lynch, Bruce Kulick, and Dweezil Zappa.
