Rudy Sarzo Anchors Tom Morello’s Supergroup B in Classic Rock Blowout at Sabbath Finale

Tom Morello’s “All Stars” brought the heat to Birmingham on July 5th with a full-throttle set at Back to the Beginning, the live concert marking Black Sabbath’s final bow. Dubbed Supergroup B, the rotating lineup was packed with rock icons and fueled by Rudy Sarzo on bass.

Sarzo, who’s played with everyone from Quiet Riot to Ozzy to Whitesnake, held it down from top to bottom. The band tore through classics like “Breaking the Law,” “Bark at the Moon,” and “Whole Lotta Love,” with Sarzo laying the foundation for every twist and turn.

The vocal lineup included Billy Corgan, Sammy Hagar, and Steven Tyler. The guitar section read like a festival poster with Tom Morello, Adam Jones, K.K. Downing, Nuno Bettencourt, Vernon Reid, Ronnie Wood, and Andrew Watt all trading riffs. Behind the kit were Danny Carey, Chad Smith, and Travis Barker. Adam Wakeman rounded it out on keys.

It was raw. It was loud. It was one hell of a tribute to the music that shaped generations. Sarzo was right in the middle of it all, doing what he does best.
