Warwick Announces Rockbass Adam Clayton Artist Line Bass
After introducing the custom shop version in May, Warwick has made good on their promise to bring the Adam Clayton Streamer CV Signature bass to their mid-priced Rockbass Artist Line. The bass, which Warwick describes as the “little brother” of the custom shop model, carries many of the same features while being manufactured in the company’s Chinese factory.
It’s built with an alder body, a maple neck, and a maple fretboard holding 21 jumbo bronze frets. The body is finished in Cream White with a black pickguard to give it a retro look, while its passive Seymour Duncan P pickup makes it sound the part as well. Other features include passive MEC electronics, Warwick Hardware, and black block inlays.
Warwick says the Rockbass Adam Clayton Artist Line Bass will be shipping in September with a street price around $799.99.

I actually like the idea of a P-bass sound which I assume it will have due to the pickups (well a little different with a reverse P), but with a different shape and with 21 frets. Now for my usual petty gripe about something: It would be nice if came in something besides the off-white seen here. How about black, red, and/or yellow-red-black sunburst, too? Oh, one more thing – can we get a rosewood option too?
Probably not on this particular model. If it sells well, then I would bet they’d add those variations. Since this is the finish and configuration Adam Clayton has on his signature model, that’s what the initial offering is gonna be.
FWIW, I’d rather have one of the variations you suggested-especially the red-than this one, too, but I’m not generally the target audience for sig models.
I would have kept my Thumb if it had been only 21 frets. About time….
