Bass of the Week: Luthman Basses Lady M 10th Anniversary I

Luthman Basses Lady M 10th Anniversary I Bass

France’s Luthman Basses celebrated their 10th anniversary in December 2015 with a special version of their Lady M model, and now it’s our bass of the week.

The company went all out on the bass with a highly figured burl camphor top with a “wave opening” over a flamed maple body, all finished in a maxi high gloss. Its seven-piece neck is made up from flamed maple and wenge, which are nicely accompanies by highly figured birdseye maple for the fingerboard. A “10 L” logo is inlaid at the 12th fret with wenge.

The bass’s red and blonde wood motif is accented by custom gold hardware including a golden Gotoh tuners, golden knobs and switches, and a golden Luthman custom bridge. Their custom pickups are covered in burl camphor to tie the theme together. Finally, the bass is fitted with a Noll 3-band preamp.
