Cort Upgrades the B5 Plus AS Bass for 2016
Cort has updated their B5 Plus AS bass with a new set of electronics. The model, which is part of the Artisan Series, now comes with the Markbass MB-1 EQ to match its Bartolini MK-1 pickups.
The bass’s preamp is described as providing a “very natural and transparent boost” that won’t color the instrument’s natural tone. “The crystal clarity and natural warmth combined exude a passive feel with smooth lows, full-bodied mids, and bell-like highs,” the company writes. Controls include Bass, Mid, Treble, Volume, Pickup Balance, and an active/passive switch.
The B5 Plus AS is built with a swamp ash body in a natural finish and a five-piece wenge neck topped by a rosewood fretboard. It’s fitted with Hipshot Ultralight tuners and an EB12 bridge. A left handed version is available.
The Cort B5 Plus AS will be shipping later this year with a to-be-determined price point.
