Cort Introduces the GB Short Scale Bass With Markbass Electronics

Cort Guitars has expanded its GB series of bass guitars with the GB Short Scale. Sporting a 30-inch scale, the bass is described as offering “modern electronics and player-focused ergonomics.”
“The GB Short Scale features a poplar body providing a balanced tonal response with warm mids and smooth highs,” the company explains. “Its body is approximately 20% more compact than a standard bass, contributing to improved comfort and ease of play.”
Its roasted maple neck is fitted with a matching roasted maple fingerboard holding 22 medium-jumbo frets. Cort equips the GB Short Scale with one of their Powersound humbucker pickups and a Markbass MB-1 preamp. The control set includes a three-band EQ and a three-way pickup function selector to toggle the pickup between series, split, and parallel modes. Hardware includes a vintage-style bridge and open-gear tuners.
Cort offers the model in gloss body finishes with a matte neck finish. It’s available in three colorways: Yellow Crush, Forest Green, and Fandango Purple.
The Cort GB Short Scale will debut at the NAMM Show. It will have a street price of $449.
