Greer Amps Introduces the Super Hornet Octave Fuzz Pedal
Greer Amps has released a new octave fuzz pedal called the Super Hornet, which they say works great on guitar and bass. Based on a Foxx Tone Machine, the pedal tweaks the vintage-style circuit by using NOS BC-107B transistors and adding a feature to the octave section.
The octave switch can be set to On or Stinger modes. When in Stinger mode, the momentary stinger footswitch becomes active, allowing to kick the octave on only when you press the footswitch. It can be held down for lead runs, left unpressed for your normal fuzz, or tapped quickly to flutter the octave. When the octave mode is on, the octave effect is always on with the fuzz, negating the Stinger switch.
Fuzz, Tone, and Volume controls round out the controls for further tonal tweaking. The Super Hornet uses true bypass and standard negative center, 2.1mm power supply. It’s shipping now with a price of $225.99.
