Descendents: Testosterone

Punk icons The Descendents recently released their seventh studio album, Hypercaffium Spazzinate, and it’s got all the fervor they’re known for. That includes the blistering bass work of Karl Alvarez.

Watch the band get down on their latest live video for “Testosterone”. The song is short but sweet with a killer bass run at the 28-second mark.

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.

Woah! I haven’t been hooked by this kind of music since long time ago, but this is really really nice!

I have been a fan of the Descendents and Karl Alvarez for over 25 years. When the NoTreble forums first opened up I posted about them. All of their stuff is bass heavy, the bassists they had before Karl were also insane. Check them out.
