Entheos Releases “Dark Future”

Entheos: Dark FutureEntheos has returned with their second full length album, entitled Dark Future. Anchored by bassist Evan Brewer, the recording is described by the band as an expansion on their songwriting.

“We wanted to evolve the sound a little bit,” drummer Navene Koperweis says. “Evan wrote a lot more. You can feel [guitarist Travis LeVrier’s influence in there. We didn’t have that before. The process was different this time around. We decided to get together for a couple of weeks in a room and hammer out the whole album. The last time, it was mostly done via email. Being in the same place, you really get inspired by what everyone else is doing.”

“Now, it was much more of a group effort from the ground up,” Brewer adds. “It was different in that regard. Once we started recording, everything went really fast. I think this album is going to translate better live. It’s technical, but not in a super dense way. There’s more space, and the tempos are slightly slower—which will be fun on stage.”

Check out the band performing “Inverted Earth (I) / Sunshift (II)” below. Brewer kills it throughout with a nice two-handed tapping section starting at the 4:25 mark:

Dark Future is available now on CD, vinyl and as a digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3). Entheos is currently on tour with Whitechapel, Carnifex, Rings of Saturn and So This is Suffering.
