Hotone Introduces the Binary Pedal Series
Hotone has introduced the Binary Series, a line of four effects pedals for guitar and bass. The range includes an amp simulator, a delay, a cabinet simulator, and a modulation pedal. Each unit is fitted with a dual footswitch layout, an OLED display, and the same digital processor.
“At the core of the Binary Series sound is a dual-DSP (digital signal processing) platform and Hotone’s proprietary Comprehensive Dynamic Circuit Modeling (CDCM) system that ensures a realistic playing experience,” Hotone writes. “The CDCM system is built on an extremely complex dynamic variation matrix, able to realistically express every detailed change that occurs during the operational process of actual circuitry. The result is a faithful reproduction of the original sounds.”
First up is the Binary Amp, which simulates 16 guitar amp models from Friedman, Mesa/Boogie, Fender, Peavey, Marshall, Engl, Soldano, VOX, Orange, and more. It also has a built-in effects loop for flexibility. Next is the Binary IR Cab, an impulse response-based cabinet simulator that has 100 guitar and bass cab models inspired by Fender, Supro, Vox, Dumble, Marshall, Mesa/Boogie, Bogner, Hartke, and more. The pedal also includes power amp models and studio microphones models with different position and room simulations. Independent IR files can be imported into the Binary IR Cab to expand your own library.
The Binary Eko is a CDCM-based delay with stereo ins and outs as well as an expression pedal input. It has 17 delay effects including analog, digital, tape, dual, ping pong, filtered, modulated, slap back, and more. Similarly, the Binary Mod offers stereo I/O and expression pedal support with 24 modulation effects: choruses, flangers, phasers, tremolos, rotary speaker simulators, vibratos, wahs, detuners and more.
The Hotone Binary Series is available now. The Binary Amp, Binary Eko, and Binary Mod carry street prices of $139.99 while the Binary IR Cab goes for $149.99.
