Paul McCartney Announces New Album, Tour Dates
Paul McCartney has a new album coming out September 7th, entitled Egypt Station, and he’s just announced the first dates of a corresponding tour called “Freshen Up.” So far the trek includes four September dates in Canada and three in December in the UK. He’s also slated to perform at Austin City Limits in Texas during October, so fans can expect U.S. dates coming soon.
Egypt Station will be McCartney’s seventeenth solo album and his first since 2013’s New. Two singles – “Come On To Me” and “I Don’t Know” – have already been released from the album, which has a “unique travelogue vibe,” the press release states. “I liked the words ‘Egypt Station.’ It reminded me of the ‘album’ albums we used to make,” McCartney shared. “‘Egypt Station’ starts off at the station on the first song and then each song is like a different station. So it gave us some idea to base all the songs around that. I think of it as a dream location that the music emanates from.”
