Geddy Lee Reveals More Details on Upcoming Bass Book
“Hey! Guess what? I wrote a book! No, not about birds… It’s about basses, basses, and more basses!” Lee quipped. “Amongst the 408 pages of glorious photos, there are facts, opinions, a bit of history and cool interviews with some awesome bassfolk. It’s big and beautiful and features around 250 instruments from my collection of vintage basses, including all my trusty stage gear. It took me forever, but I think it’s turned out pretty effin’ cool and I can’t wait to share it with you all this December! There are various supercool editions you can pre-order: for vintage bass nerds, or their pals who want to gift them, or Rush fans who want to get up close to the instruments they’ve seen and heard for over 4 decades! Really hope you dig it!”
The standard book will be available for $75. A $450 Luxe version, which is limited to 900 numbered and signed copies, will come in a silver Tolex slipcase and includes a custom fabric book bag, a behind-the-scenes mini booklet, and two custom guitar picks from Dunlop. For diehard fans, the Ultra Limited edition comes with two copies of the book (one to thumb through and one to keep in its shrinkwrap), the mini booklet, two custom guitar picks, a glossy 8×10″ signed by Lee, a printed setlist from the R40 Tour with Lee’s basses listed next to each song, a vintage Fender Hang Tag reproduction, a set of Rotosound bass strings in a custom vintage style box, and a guitar polishing cloth with the book’s skull logo. The mega package is limited to 250 sets and sells for $950.
All three versions of the book are available for pre-order now with a release date of December 4th.
