Judas Priest Announces Extensive North American Tour
Judas Priest’s latest album, Firepower, has proven to be one of the most successful releases of the iconic metal band’s career. After extensive touring this year, the group will be continuing to support it with a massive North American tour scheduled for 2019.
“Metal maniacs – Judas Priest is roaring back to the USA for one more blast of Firepower! Firepower 2019 charges forth with new first time performances born out of Firepower, as well as fresh classic cuts across the decades from the Priest world metalsphere,” Judas Priest wrote in a statement. “Our visual stage set and light show will be scorching a unique, hot, fresh vibe – mixing in headline festivals, as well as the in-your-face venue close ups. We can’t wait to reunite and reignite our maniacs…THE PRIEST IS BACK!”
The tour will kick off in Florida on May 3rd and work their way north and then west. Seven dates are scheduled for Canada, which will be followed by a jaunt back down the U.S. West Coast, finally landing in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 29th.
Firepower is Priest’s 18th studio album, but that doesn’t mean they’re ready to call it quits. Bassist and sole remaining founding member Ian Hill told Musik Universe that “there is no reason to stop writing new songs” and that they don’t expect the critically acclaimed album to be their last.
