David Bowie’s famous set at the Glastonbury Festival in 2000 is now available in a live album and concert DVD. The new release compiles the full show for the first time featuring loads of Bowie’s hits. The package also includes never before seen footage. Bassist Gail Ann Dorsey anchors the entire 21-track album.

La Bella Strings has expanded their line of Olinto bass guitars with a five-string version. The Olinto 5-String is carved by hand in Brooklyn by master luthier Mas Hino with a variety of options for body woods.

Jimmy Haslip has been staying busy this year. After releasing an album with the ARC Trio, he’s now teamed up with pianist Otmaro Ruíz and percussionist Jimmy Branly for a new record called “Elemental.”

The Winery Dogs have announced the “Who Let The Dogs Out” tour for 2019. The trio – which consists of Richie Kotzen, Mike Portnoy, and Billy Sheehan – is scheduled to hit the U.S. in May.

Pirate Guitar Effects has released the Peg Leg Overdrive and Compressor, a pedal that they say captures the amp tones of the ’60s and ’70s with an added versatile compressor. Useful for bass and guitar, the pedal features dual-mode circuits for a wide palette of sounds.

Scary Pockets is back with a new video, and this time it is a funk mashup of the Steve Miller Band’s “The Joker” and Weezer’s “Undone – The Sweater Song.” Bassist Jon Flaugher joins the band on this one, along with guest vocalist Darren Criss.

Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan has revealed he’s putting the final touches on a new solo album that is set to be released in the coming year. Produced by Shooter Jennings, the record is inspired by McKagan’s experiences touring with the reunited Guns N’ Roses over the last few years.

It’s hard to argue that Tim Starace from YYNOT is just another Geddy Lee clone playing Rush’s fabled music. Both statements would be incorrect. Anybody who can even play close to the brilliance that is Geddy on bass is worthy of attention, and Tim brings a whole next level of creativity, sound, and energy to the bass.
