King’s X In The Studio For New Album

King's X

After revealing that they’d be working on a new album late last year, Dug Pinnick and King’s X have offered an update to the process. The group is currently at Blacksound Studio in Pasadena, California to make the record, which will be their first since XV in 2008.

The lineup is the same as every other King’s X album with bassist Pinnick, guitarist Ty Tabor, and drummer Jerry Gaskill. They’re joined by producer Michael Parnin. When asked about what it was like to be recording the new album, Pinnick said, “Good question! I haven’t thought about it much, been super busy. But got a ton of tunes to submit. I never know what to expect. I’m always surprised when it’s done and can see it as a whole picture. And we’re making a record after how long?! I’ve been waiting for this to happen for a very long time, and I’m totally looking forward to it.”

Jerry Gaskill added, “It’s been a while since we’ve made a record together. I go back and forth between excitement and fear. But when it gets right down to it, I think excitement wins. I look forward to sharing all of our ideas together and seeing what comes of it all. If nothing else, it will be the next King’s X record.”

The new King’s X album will be out later this year on Golden Robot Records. We’ll keep you updated as more details emerge.
