Maxon Unveils the Limited-Edition 40th Anniversary OD808-40 Overdrive Pedal
Maxon has announced a new limited edition pedal called the OD808-40 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of their original OD808 overdrive. It was originally created by former Maxon engineer Susumu Tamura in Japan and was eventually licensed to Ibanez and released worldwide as the TS808 Tubescreamer.
“Featuring a circuit modified to Mr. Tamura’s specifications, the OD808-40 features more output with superior note articulation and improved dynamic response,” distributor Godlyke, Inc. explains. “Production of the OD808-40 will be limited to 400 pieces and each unit will be serially numbered and come with a certificate of authenticity. In addition, the first 40 units will be hand-signed by Mr. Tamura himself.”
The pedal is available for order now with street prices of $199 for unsigned version and $400 for signed version.
