A Decade of No Treble

A Decade of No Treble

Today is an exciting day: No Treble’s 10th anniversary. That’s a little tough for me to get my head around, but it feels so good to say it.

It has been quite the journey. Not a lot of people know this, but I had the idea to start No Treble 10 years before we actually started – so, in other words, it has been on my mind for 20 years now. Obviously, it took me a long time to start. But eventually, we announced our official launch on May 2, 2009.

While at times it can be challenging to keep the beast going, I now have 10 years worth of great memories. I’ve been able to make connections with bass players all over the world, meet many of my heroes (and discover new ones), attend 10 Winter NAMM shows, and check out a lot of concerts along the way.

Over these 10 years, No Treble has been visited 27 million times. We’ve published over 13,000 articles, columns, videos, lessons, and more. Our Facebook page is liked by over 209,000 of you, our (much newer) Facebook group now has over 13,000 members, and our Youtube channel now has over 2,500,000 views.

A special shout out goes to Kevin Johnson, who has been with No Treble almost as long as we’ve been around. I could have never pulled this off without him, and he’s become a great friend in the process. The same goes for regular contributors Damian Erskine, Ryan Madora, Donovan Stokes, Ariane Cap, Mitch Joel, Tim Fletcher, and Thomas “MarloweDK” Risell. We’ve had many guest and past contributors over the years in addition to those, and I’m equally grateful to them.

But most of all, this is all about you. When you start something, you do so with the best hopes and intentions. But it is up to the audience to decide. I read every comment that is posted on No Treble, our social platforms, and emails from you. These mean the world to us, and I can’t thank you enough for being here. It has helped us shape this into something that is not only all about the bass, but all about you and what we see is resonating in our community.

We have a lot to celebrate and some exciting things coming as well. So we’ll be extending this celebration throughout the month of May. Be on the lookout for a lot of special things we have planned.

Thank you so much for being here. Connecting with you has been a real joy, and I look forward to the next 10 years and beyond.
